IN HONOR OF PATRICIA GRAY  250 300 Pale Horse Books

Patti was an author, foreign relations specialist, educator, and environmentalist. Her exceptional book, Petra, drew upon her vast knowledge of Jordan and of Hudson River Valley painters, Frederick Church in particular. She had a hand in critiquing half a dozen Pale Horse Books titles as they were being written– always providing the author with just the needed boost to help make a good book great.

From some people we learn very little, from others, like Patricia Gray, we learn the importance of friendship, of stewardship, of revering art—and of creating art worthy of revering.

We learn the value of thoughtful study and thoughtful discourse. We learn that our neighborhood doesn’t end at the end of our street, or even at the farthest shore.

We learn that we are at most at home when we walk in the woods, preferably in the company of a small dog.

We learn about courage. We learn about grace. We recognize that we are blessed by knowing them. So very blessed.
